2 stars (Good Try) You can't miss what Del Toro's aiming for here, and its hard to begrudge him for it, but his tale's so in thrall to "classic" gothic-thriller tropes it feels more redundant than scary. Still: beautifully designed, and filmed, with very appealing lead ~fairbrother
4 stars (Very Good) Visually stunning & occasionally gruesome grown-ups' fairy tale. Thoroughly enjoyed it. ~Truant
2 stars (Good Try) Good production values but the screenplay doesn't have a great deal to distinguish it from others in the sub-genre. ~Tubbs
2 stars (Good Try) Heathcliffe, it's me Cathy, and Jane Eyre, and Rebecca, so warmed-over let me in your window ~Pearce
