Bridge of Spies
“An ode to holding fast to moral principles, geopolitics be damned, becomes a hurrah for old-fashioned big-screen storytelling.”~Ignatiy VIshnevetsky, The AV Club
Aroview: Elegant, nostalgic Cold-War drama from Steven Spielberg based on a true story. Tom Hanks plays the American attorney thanklessly tasked with representing an Anglo-Russian spy (Mark Rylance in an Oscar-winning performance) and the subsequent negotiation of the release an American operative in Germany.

3 stars (Good Enough) Perilously close to made-for-TV-movie storytelling (worthy, plodding, unimaginative) but immaculately mounted. Rylance is great as Abel. ~HiFi
2 stars (Good Try) It shoots itself in the foot - although the period set designs and wardrobe are impeccable the story drags on and on. It would have helped if the superb Mark Rylance had been in more scenes. ~Tubbs
