Aroview: Jim Dale plays a young Spike Milligan, then an aspiring jazz musician who in 1940 reluctantly obeys his call-up and joins the Royal Artillery regiment to train to take part in the War.

A crack-pot mix of "Carry-On" style farce and the subversive satire of MASH, co-scripted by Milligan himself and based on the first volume of his war memoirs.
