“More successful as a coming-of-age movie than a horror, It still ranks among the better Stephen King adaptations - no small praise indeed.”~Empire
Aroview: A group of youngsters dread, and dare to tread, toward solving the mystery of why children are disappearing in their small town in Maine, leading to confrontation with a mythic evil clown named Pennywise.
Perhaps all too familiar to those weened on Stephen King and 80's teen horrors, this slick, carnival-ride update of the TV mini-series adapted from King's 1986 novel deals exclusively with the "flashback" chapters (transposed here from the 1950s to the late 1980s) with the "adult" present-day chapter to follow in a separate installment.

2 stars (Good Try) There were some really good horror segments. However, the long stretches in between them weren't that interesting and consequently, the film dragged at times over its two hours plus. ~Tubbs
