Downsizing
“An ingenious comedy of scale, a touching tale of a man whose problems grow bigger as he gets smaller, and an earnest environmental parable.”~Variety
Aroview: Dir. Alexander Payne (NEBRASKA, SIDEWAYS) pulls another one from outside the box with a satiric fantasy in which a man joins the ranks of a middle-class opting to heighten their standard-of-living by shrinking down to five inches tall to live in an affluent micro-society.
The social satire morphs into an unexpected eco-parable at the half-way mark, which has its merits, but does short change the sustained potential of its genius comic conceit.
