Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Aroview: A miraculous, complex 'domestic fantasy' from the twin genius of writer Charlie Kaufman and director Michel Gondry, who find a satisfying narrative for the closest approximation of the 'dream state' yet committed to film.
Jim Carrey acquits himself admirably as an ordinary guy who discovers that his girlfriend (Kate Winslet) has had her relationship with him ‘erased’ from her memory, the film bares out the consequences of his decision to go through with the same outrageous procedure.
Though at times prone to over-playing its zaniness, this finds a poignant resolution that justifies all of the mad contrivances gone before, and may well leave you hankering already for a repeated viewing.

4 stars (Very Good) When Joel learns his ex-girlfriend, Clementine, has erased him from her memory he decides to do the same - only to change his mind during the procedure and struggles to hang on to the memories. Structurally complex & enthralling love story. ~GenXGirl
5 stars (Exceptional) Beautiful, flawless film-making. And absolute triumph on every level, from the acting to the screenplay to the direction. In my opinion, the best film ever made. ~Wizzums
