Brief Encounter
Aroview: Controlled rendering of Noel Coward's touching story about a romance that evolves between two happily married strangers. This much loved British classic has a few too many unfortunate moments of dated sexual dynamics that may kill the mood for some.

4 stars (Very Good) Nostalgic use of train platforms, subways and cafeteria. Joyce Carey scene steals and provides relief from the romance. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Not dated, thanks to the cracking script full of wit, eg preview of "Flames of Passion" followed by an pram ad! Impressive acting & quality of reprocessed film & sound plus train punctuality before Thatcher's privatisation. ~Sandy
5 stars (Exceptional) perfect movie of the 40s. It's a shame some of the conventions of the time - accents in particular - make it seem mannered. ~Tony B
