Aroview: Exemplary French noir based on the novel Les Fiançailles de M. Hire by Georges Simenon, the source of the Patrice Leconte film, MONSIEUR HIRE (1989). The plot involves a solitary Jewish apartment dweller who bares witness to a murder which he is then framed for by way of propaganda and planted evidence.
