Witness to Murder

Aroview: Film noir following a woman who doubts her sanity after witnessing a murder from her apartment window.

While the cops think she is just some hysterical lady, the viewer knows full well this is Barbara Stanwyk, whose presence is a little too strong to be convincing in this role as a fragile victim.

An interesting gender swap of the REAR WINDOW story, which affords an opportunity to comment on social inequalities, though unfortunately released at the same time as Hitchcock's triumph, and could not compete.
