Organizer, The
Aroview: Engrossing, beautifully filmed Italian drama about working class solidarity, set amidst the rapid expansion of industrial society in 19th Century Turin.
At a textile factory, workers are suffering through 14 hour work days and injuries due to fatigue, when an idealistic intellectual (a shaggy haired Marcello Mastroianni) arrives on the run from the police in Genoa, and attempts to organise the revolt of these downtrodden workers (who are played by actual factory workers). A brilliant piece of Neo-realist inspired film making.
