Salt of the Earth
Aroview: An incendiary tale of racial prejudice, big business greed and feminist uprising that pushed plenty of buttons in the fifties, making it first of its kind to be banned.
When Mexican miners become the victims of a series of workplace accidents, a strike is called, prompting the mining company to retaliate through violence and intimidation. As the headstrong wife of the strike’s leader, Rosaura Revueltas punches above her weight, lending a distinctly female voice to the film’s unionised propaganda.

5 stars (Exceptional) Terrific film on the role of working women in the class struggle. It poses that childcare, housework, sanitation etc. are not just 'women's issues' but are part of the larger class struggle. ~Andrea
3 stars (Good Enough) A simple story that deserves to be seen. Well done ladies. ~Tubbs
