USA 1927, 50 minutes, Black and white
Dir. Tod Browning
Genres: Classics, Horror / Silent Cinema

Aroview: Lon Chaney is fantastically expressive in this Grand Guignol inspired silent horror, from frequent collaborators Chaney and director Tod Browning, in what is widely regarded as a masterpiece of the late silent film era. Chaney plays an armless carnival knife thrower and an 18-year old Joan Crawford plays his circus partner and secret love.

Also on the disc:

"Lon Chaney: A Thousand Faces" (2000), a comprehensive overview of the life and career of one of the great actors of the silent era. Narrated by Kenneth Branagh.

"London After Midnight", a 2002 photo reconstruction of a famously lost 1927 silent film directed by Tod Browning. Producer by Rick Schmidlin used the original script and film stills to recreate the original plot.
