Phantom of the Opera
Aroview: First screen version of the Gaston Leroux novel with Lon Chaney grimacing through his greatest hour as the phantom. The atmosphere is creepy and the ending is pure Grand Guignol.

5 stars (Exceptional) ~Wyatt Earp
3 stars (Good Enough) Sooo different from the other versions I've seen, including the musical. Also strange to have a film based on the love of music with no sound whatsoever. No background organ, nothing. Lon Chaney is great; Christine annoying. ~BabyJane
