Matter of Life and Death, A
Aroview: By a miracle, RAF pilot David Niven escapes certain death, only to find he must argue for his right to live before a 'heavenly tribunal'. A commissioned propaganda piece takes flight as a supremely fanciful and indelible work of art in the hands of its doggedly unique creative pair.

5 stars (Exceptional) For a film made in the 1940s, the special effects were well produced. Of equal excellence was the writing & the casting of Livesey & Massey for the crucial trial scene was spot on. 75 years on & this excellent piece of filmmaking is still to be admired. ~Tubbs
4 stars (Very Good) Niven struggling with survivors guilt... just like the entire audience was in 1946. ~Regando
