0 star (Not rated) I wholeheartedly like this film. There are good reasons it's a classic: a dark-hearted villain, universally funny and quirky moments, and a happy, Christmassy ending in which good deeds are reciprocated and friendship and love prevail. ~ets

3 stars (Good Enough) There is a whining voice in most scenes that threatens to destroy the film & it gets worse when it turns hysterical in the later stages. Although the screenplay is soppy in parts this is a great chance to see Barrymore, Mitchell, Travers, & Grahame et.al. ~Tubbs
