Elvis
Synopsis: Baz Lurhmann is back with his first feature film since “The Great Gatsby” (2013) exploring the life and music of Elvis Presley in his own inimitable style. His Elvis story is seen through the lens of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks), delving into the complex dynamic between the two spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom. All against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America.
“It’s the most impeccably styled and blaringly gaudy thing you’ll see all year, and all the more fun for it.”~Robbie Collin, The Telegraph

3 stars (Good Enough) The Parker character got a bit lost in the two and a half hours which was some relief. The soundtrack was pretty good, especially in the early blues influenced days. ~Tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) There were a few cringey bits, but overall an enjoyable movie that has a different take on the Elvis story. ~L
