Double Life of Veronique
Aroview: An incandescent meditation on the lives of two identical young women - one Polish, one French - both played by Irene Jacob (RED). A precursor to the director's THREE COLOURS trilogy, this sets the stage as personal philosophical study, abundantly rich in symbolism, sound and vision.

4 stars (Very Good) Two women, Polish Weronika & French Veronique, have never met and don't know the other exists. Despite opposite personalities, their lives & souls are bound together. When one suddenly dies, the other searches for her double life. Beautiful & absorbing. ~GenXGirl
3 stars (Good Enough) The camera lovingly captures Irene Jacob as she is centre stage for much of the running time. Her excellent performance does justice to the double-threaded screenplay. ~Tubbs
