Sleuth
Aroview: A supremely cunning, self-reflexive mystery satire based on the hit West End play, with Laurence Olivier and Michael Caine as affable intellectual dandies of different classes who enter into a battle of elaborate gamesmanship after Olivier discovers Caine's affair with his wife.

3 stars (Good Enough) Clever but stagy, this twisty tail is an actor's showcase in which Caine easily upstages the hammy Olivier. The over-stuffed production design by Ken Adam is distracting. ~Pearce
4 stars (Very Good) For a cast of two to hold one's attention for over two hours requires good writing and performances. ~Tubbs
