Basquiat
Aroview: The director sends a post-mortem loveletter to his friend and contemporary, Jean-Michel Basquiat, a celebrated but fragile New York black artist who blossomed under the auspice of Andy Warhol, but struggled to deal with fame and eventually OD'ed in 1987.
David Bowie as Warhol leads an impossibly hip roster of thesps. Supposedly made in the style of the artist - colourful, ramshackle, impulsive - but the correlation could be extended to include docile and unfocused.
