High Art
Aroview: Accepted into the fold of her washed-up, drug-addled neighbours, a curious young photojournalist (Rahda Mitchell) finds professional and romantic interest in her creative mentor, a former art-world-darling photographer (Ally Sheedy in a sensational comeback performance).
Inspired by the character and work of Nan Goldin, this snaps a fittingly moody picture of a bohemian New York subculture, reflected in dingy light and design, while provoking some pointed questions about the murky interdependence of art, success, and exploitation.

3 stars (Good Enough) Well-designed & structured in New York. Fascinating characters, all well-acted. Witty, amusing and, yes, pointed. ~Sandy
