Aroview: Stirring treatment of the life of the Mexican revolutionary leader Emiliano Zapata (Marlon Brando) who rose from peasanthood to presidency in the civil wars of the 1910s. John Steinbeck's liberal-heart-on-sleeve script creaks a little, but performances from Brando and Anthony Quinn (who won an Oscar) retain their swagger.
