Aroview: The Third World fears of America are played out in this knotty variation on MIDNIGHT EXPRESS. Vince Vaughn has to decide whether to save his buddy Joaquin Phoenix, holed up in a Malaysian prison on drug charges, from the noose by going back and doing his share of prison time. Trashy, but has a convincing, logical drama at its core.

2 stars (Good Try) It was a good plot idea but the screenplay gets romantically sidetracked and is melodramatic in its final stages. ~Tubbs
