Little Voice
Aroview: The creator of BRASSED OFF trumps up another salty, crowd-pleasing musical of aspirations, survival and opportunism in the English North.
Makes best use of its acting talent - Brenda Blethyn's 'mutton-dressed-as-lamb' matches her character-turn in SECRETS AND LIES and Michael Caine's show-biz lowlife is perfectly cast, but the show's hidden treasure is the multi-talented Jane Horrocks in the title role, whose own singing voice is indeed worthy of your standing ovation.

4 stars (Very Good) Ever since LV's father died, she locks herself away in the attic listening to all his old-time records. When her boozy brassy mother's new boyfriend discovers LV's voice is not a record coming from her room, he smells the big time. Charming, well cast. ~GenXGirl
