Aroview: One of Hitch's first American films uses the artificial charms of Cary Grant to strangely sinister effect, as a manipulative playboy whom wife Joan Fontaine suspects of various misdeeds. Some excellent twists along the way, right up to the 'shocking' ending (imposed by the Production Code). Fontaine won an Oscar.
