Aro Recommended Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me

USA 1999, 95 minutes
Dir. Jay Roach
Rating: [M]
Genres: Comedy / Spoof, Spy

Topics: Timewarp.

Aroview: Slightly hand-me-down it may be, but gag-for-gag, this extravagant sequel arguably tops the original and seals Austin Powers as a significant icon of the late 90s.

Abetted by luscious Heather Graham and a scene-stealing midget, creator Mike Myers as Austin cavorts through a dazzling theme-park version of the 60s to recover his stolen 'mojo', which has left him limp in the sack and a less-than-dandy crime-fighter. Add to all the eye candy a double dose of innuendo, pop satire, and eminently quotable dialogue and you have a package that proved impossible to resist.
