Mummy, The
Aroview: The old Universal horror wrapped in Indiana Jones-style adventure with 1920s archeologists and treasure hunters (led by Brendan Fraser) accidentally awakening Imhotep, evil high priest of Thebes, mummified alive 3000 years ago.
Whips up some momentum after a sluggish start and the effects go for broke, especially for the massive sandstorm sequence.

2 stars (Good Try) The effects are decent, but there is little else to recommend, especially when Brendan Fraser will never be as likeable as Harrison Ford, and the treasure-hunter formula has been done better numerous times before. ~Tom H
2 stars (Good Try) Fraser is not too bad in this but the only real highlight is the work done by the make up department on the mummies. ~Tubbs
