Aroview: A rarity here - an intelligent Hollywood horror movie with no teenagers and no comic relief (intended or otherwise).
Story of a troubled psychologist (Bruce Willis) challenged with the task of 'curing' a small boy haunted by ghosts is beautifully crafted, with superb performances especially from 12-year-old Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette.
That it is also manages to be genuinely scary (both hair-prickling and jolting) and has an ending that truly pops out of the dark secures this alongside the very best of its kind. Version features an extra nine minutes deleted from the theatrical version.

4 stars (Very Good) If only we could watch a movie without any knowledge of having seen it before or knowing of the twists to come. An intense and moving first viewing—only sad that we can never capture that final moment of realisation more than once. ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) Chilling psychological thriller about a young boy visited by spirits who don't realise they're dead.. and the child psychologist who tries to cure him. Very clever and demands a second viewing. ~GenXGirl
5 stars (Exceptional) Great movie. got lost in it and therefore was surprised along with many others at the end. Osment deserved an Oscar for this performance. Willis was wonderfully understated. ~Macthella
