Detroit Rock City
Aroview: In 1978, Edward Furlong and his garage band pals are perhaps the most devoted KISS fans in the world, but the road to see their idols in concert is dogged by disco trash, meatheads and especially a puritanical protest group, MATMOK (Mothers Against The Music of Kiss).
With precocious gusto and huge affection for the era, dir. Rifkin proves to sure know something about the excitement of youth culture, and has a keen ear for the rock classics that jam the soundtrack. Especially essential for lapsed KISS fans and 70s nostalgia buffs, it should also be dug by a new breed of rock wannabes and those that only know the era through "That 70s Show".
