Another Day in Paradise
Aroview: The director of KIDS injects his trademark 'heroin chic' into the lowlife crime genre, though the effect by now seems passe and unshocking.
Everything here is gratuitous - the sex, the drugs, the language, the MOR ballads on the soundtrack, even Melanie Griffiths' collagen implants - as skinny kids Vincent Kartheiser and Natasha Gregson Wagner hook up with middle-aged slimeball James Woods and his muse (Griffith) to learn the tricks of their illicit trade.
Woods is well known for his propensity for anger, but no amount of emoting can cover up for the hollowness of his character, or the rest of the film. DRUGSTORE COWBOY did this all so much better over a decade before.
