Aroview: The director of FIRE takes on another controversial element of modern India with the second in her (proposed) trilogy - a humanistic view of the ethnic and religious clashes between India and Pakistan on the eve of their partition in 1947.
Bringing some understanding to a greatly misunderstood historical conflict, the impact of events on a group of religiously-mixed, working class friends is reflected through the 'non-partisan' eyes of an eight-year-old girl, while lavished in the sumptuous colour and sound palette of epic cinema tradition.
