Aroview: Dustin Hoffman is brilliantly convincing as a convicted felon fighting a losing battle to go straight after a six year jail term, as are most aspects of this criminally overlooked crime picture.
Based on the book by Edward Bunker (who cameos here as he did later in RESERVOIR DOGS), his first-hand experience as an alienated parolee is vividly presented as an exemplary piece of 70s realism, courtesy also of supporting greats, M. Emmet Walsh, Harry Dean Stanton, Gary Busey, Theresa Russell.
