Aroview: Satirical in a most primitive, bestial way, this astonishing fable sees frustrated factory-worker Michel Piccoli cease to speak one morning, and instead grunt, gibber, smash his furniture and turn his apartment into a modern-day neanderthal's cave, with his younger sister as a mate. Taboo-breaking in the extreme, but with a serious comment to make.

4 stars (Very Good) There's no dialogue in this movie, only gibberish spoken with French accents. I found it utterly delightful. One of a select group of anarchic counter-cultural movies in which cops are cannibalised (see also Pink Flamingos). ~Pearce
