Aroview: American adaptation of Nick Hornby's beloved English novel about pop music obsession and the vagaries of romance loses surprisingly little in the Trans-Atlantic translation, thanks to John Cusack's agreeable acting persona as well as his integrity as co-producer.
Purists will have quibbles, but like a respectable remake of an endearing pop song, this holds its own and yet doesn't taint your memory of the original.

4 stars (Very Good) Very solid dramedy about an interesting character played by John Cusack. Also, many of the supporting characters are interesting and funny. ~dr.strangelove
4 stars (Very Good) Bob owns a record store in Chicago selling music the old-fashioned way, on vinyl, with two wacky music-snob employees. When his girlfriend Laura walks out, he revisited his previous relationships to work out where he's going wrong. Funny, a real classic. ~GenXGirl
2 stars (Good Try) There is no plot which doesn't help the paper thin characters.I felt sorry for the female actors. Black is annoying in this one. ~Tubbs
