Jesus' Son
Aroview: Flashback to the scungy perimeter of 70s America in the company of various rootless druggies, mainly on-again-off-again couple Billy Crudup and Samantha Morton. NZ dir. Maclean allows her surrealistic sensibility to permeate the scenario, to good effect, though the fragmented storyline doesn't provide a quick fix or easy resolution. Based on the stories of Denis Johnson.

4 stars (Very Good) FH, short for F'head, stumbles through a life of drug-addiction and petty crime with his girlfriend Michelle. It's a tale of finding compassion & touching other people's lifes, and in the process changing your own forever. Intense, edgy & often hilario ~GenXGirl
