Chopper
Aroview: An unruly character-portrait of Australia's most notorious living criminal, Mark 'Chopper' Read, whose attention-grabbing exploits in the 70s and 80s (and bestselling books) made him a household name.
Thanks to taut direction and an AFI-award-winning performance by Eric Bana (THE CASTLE) this true-life 'bogeyman' is scary, amoral and complex, brandishing a compelling dark wit to go with his 'sawn-offs'. Events are based around Read's spell in Pentridge Prison and the Bojangles Nightclub killing.

5 stars (Exceptional) Eric Bana is incredible (and barely recognisable) as the psychopathic Mark Chopper Read: murderer, psychopath, compulsive liar, author, and celebrity. A violent and sadistic tale, not for the faint-hearted. ~Tom H
5 stars (Exceptional) A brutal but hilarious and enjoyable faux-biopic lead by a brilliant Eric Bana. ~Wizzums
3 stars (Good Enough) The storytelling is entertaining if that description is able to be used about the subject matter. ~Tubbs
