Minus Man, The

Aroview: Comic actor Owen Wilson is sort-of cast against type as an impassive, child-like drifter with a penchant for random poisonings, settling into small town dysfunction in the Pacific Northwest, where he is taken in by a childless couple and gets a job as a postman. Consistent with the manner of its odd, detached protagonist, the introspective detail of the novel translates as a tad listless and self-consciously quirky, but it does offer up a curious alternative as a thriller that explores a 'non-violent' sociopathy.
