Aro Recommended Bank Dick, The

USA 1940, 72 minutes, B & W
Dir. Edward Cline
Genres: Classics, Comedy

Aroview: W.C. Fields last great outburst of lunatic humour, playing a not-particularly-interested-in-the-job bank-guard, who ambles through a skewed plotline of logic-less events.

Along the way, Fields scam his way into directing a film, deals with trouble at the bank and maintains his reputation by downing copious beverages. The rest of the cast also do a good job, from a script credited to one “Mahatma Kane Jeeves”.
