Son's Room, The
Aroview: A Palme d’Or-winning journey into grief by Nanni Morretti (acting and directing), playing a psychotherapist whose teenage son dies in a scuba-diving accident.
As the previously-contented family confront this loss, Morretti subverts and deepens his own Woody Allen-ish screen-persona with startlingly effective results. Both wistful and wise, with a visual freshness and pleasing lack of melodrama.

2 stars (Good Try) Story of a grieving middle-class family. As they fall apart an unexpected visiter knocks on the door, and turns out to be an unknown girlfriend of the deceased son. It's simple but almost to the point of being bland. Some will love it, but I didn't. ~GenXGirl
2 stars (Good Try) It is a melodrama concerning a photogenic family with the level of soppiness gathering pace in the second half and it gets close to embarrassing. ~Tubbs
