Rabbit Hole
“Deftly sidesteps sentimentality and still wrenches your heart.”~David Ansen, Newsweek
Aroview: Nicole Kidman and Aaron Eckhart play grieving parents clinging onto their marriage eight months after the death of their young son, in this grown-up drama adapted from David Lindsay-Abaire's Pulitzer Prize-winning stageplay.
Produced by Nicole Kidman's production company, this is another of her many collaborations with idiosyncratic directors, and this time she enlists John Cameron Mitchell, creator of the head-turning HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH and SHORTBUS. Mitchell here neuters his campier instincts and controls the drama with the kind of icy precision that perfectly suits Kidman's talents, though Aaron Eckhart at times seems out of his depth.
