Aroview: A young Brahmin Indian goes in search of knowledge, wisdom and spirituality in this gloriously shot version of Hermann Hesse’s cult novel.

Set 2500 years ago, modernday Northern India provides a myriad of images to frame the central quest which takes the young Shashi Kapoor through encounters with wealth, carnal pleasures, asceticism and even Buddha himself. Suffers from some of the counter-culture platitudes of the time, but still, a unique work.
