Aroview: A blackly comic caper, this adaptation of Alan Ayckbourn’s “Revenger’s Comedies” concerns two would-be suicides who, on the verge of leaping into the Thames, team up to rid themselves of their respective tormenters.

Without entirely translating Ayckbourn’s quizzical middlebrow wit to the screen, this still provides enough of its topsy-turvy style to pass muster, complete with nutty aristocrats, indoor motorcycle races, adulterous liaisons in horse trailers, shotgun duels and garish polyester clothing.
