Emperor's New Clothes
Aroview: Moderately noteworthy, this historical conceit has the exiled Napoleon Bonaparte switch identities with a commoner in order to escape St Helena, journey back through France and regain the throne.
Ian Holm (who has twice played the man before) is suitably obstinate when he finds his plan slowly drifting off the rails, and though the story never develops the satire it promises, the style of drifting, undemanding comedy is pleasing enough. Adapted from Simon Leys's novel.
