Italian For Beginners
Aroview: A likeable ensemble comedy in which six vulnerable characters orbit a drab Copenhagen suburb, each seeking some form of solace, romance or love.
Somewhat detracted by its "Dogme 95" production code (which attempts to banish 'artificial' means from the film-making process), the shot-on-video, soap-opera-ish quality is less appealing than its humanism and the genial characters who meet through an Italian-language nightclass and the local church.
