In Shifting Sands
Aroview: A pertinent, compelling though rather schizophrenic film-diary directed by the former Chief UN weapons inspector in Iraq.
Exploring the thwarted efforts of UNSCOM (United Nations Special Commission) to oversee the disarmament of Iraq in the 1990s, dir. Ritter gives a frontline account of the intransigence of both Iraq and the US in the process. Though lacking in several necessary interviews this certainly gives a vivid picture of the experiences of such quasi-political middlemen.
