Plumber, The
Aroview: An obscure, one-of-a-kind telemovie from Peter Weir concerning a middle-class couple whose apartment is besieged by an ambiguously menacing plumber.
A knock on the door one morning introduces the titular character (Ivor Kants) who proceeds to rip their bathroom apart (though it possibly had nothing wrong with it). Taking weeks, then months, to progress with the job, he spends his time playing his folksongs and arguing, provoking and scaring housewife Judy Morris. A simple premise developed of all its potential, this never tips into melodramatics or gore, but maintains its tension and satirical dimension right to the finale.
