King of Comedy
Aroview: Hong Kong’s king-of-parody Stephen Chow ironically casts himself as a luckless movie extra who fumbles his way to leading man status while he tutoring a beautiful nightclub hostess on the finer points of ’acting’ in his day job.
The jokes run occasionally flabby on this one as it doesn’t quite keep its strong premise in focus, but the staged ‘love scene’ in which Chow’s nose runs profusely is something of a Hong Kong classic moment.
