Cabin Fever
Aroview: More a horror ‘tribute’ than a horror movie, this indie effort from David Lynch protégé Roth steals knowingly from every other kids-in-the-woods splatter-fest (esp. Evil Dead and Texas Chainsaw Massacre) and while there are cheap thrills to be had, goes down the gurgler as yet another bloody imitation.
Stabbing at comedy that doesn’t properly mesh with the grisly stuff, you’ll practically cheer as five not-very-clever youths from the city succumb to a skin-flaying virus that has leaked into the water supply while suffering customary intimidation from the local rednecks.
