Europeans, The
Aroview: Possibly the best of the early Merchant-Ivory productions develops Henry James' novel of 19th century New England into a subtle study of family tensions.
Two wordly Americans return from abroad and disrupt the quiet lives of the puritan cousins they move in with. Modestly evoked and dramatically unfussy, this still conveys a vivid sense of period.
