Shakespeare Wallah

India 1965, 122 minutes, Black and White
Dir. James Ivory
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Classics, Drama

Topics: Showbiz.

Aroview: The first major film from the Merchant-Ivory collaboration, this elegaic drama follows the progress of an English theatre troupe through India in the dying days of the colonial era.

Still poignant with its central tale of a 'cross-cultural' love affair, this is also notable for an excellent score by Indian dir. Satyajit Ray.

This film is only available on BluRay format.
