Sylvia
Aroview: A simply formed, yet resonant portrait of the brilliant, doomed poet Sylvia Plath (Paltrow), recounting her years of marriage to (also poet) Ted Hughes, through to her suicide in 1963.
Though it remains successfully absorbed in the intricacies of two celebrated literary figures - especially communicated through Paltrow's performance - this suffers from the unavoidable shortcuts screen biopics must take and ultimately doesn't manage to do its remarkable subject justice.
